Basically the trouble is, all AVI files that playback on my media center seem to be busted. The video does not take up the whole screen, it instead seems to be playing 2 instances side by side, as in the image below:
Im using the latest version of DivX, and Xvid and this problem only seems to effect AVI files, regardless of bitrate or any other factors of the format. I know the files are not the issue as they play back just fine outside of media portal on this pc and my others, and these files are not pirated copies of anything, they are my rips of dvds I own. Setting different aspect ratios does not fix the problem either, it still shows the 2 instances on the tv.
Does anybody have any experience with a problem like this? I have searched around to no avail, but I am hoping someone has a solution. I am able to resolve the issue by setting an external player (divx), but since I cant control that software through my remote and it doesn't exit when the video stops, it sort of ruins the experience of having a media center if i have to break out the keyboard/mouse to get back to my menus.
