    last update:

    Summary:
Avoiding the panic-button to cause panic

    Area:
(Basic) home screen / main menu

    Description:
I've earlier posted a request for disabling BHS, but no luck. I've read other request for this, and I believe my suggestion would be a good solution.

"The Green Button", often referred to as "the panic button" is used by Mediaportal To switch between home screen and basic home screen. Although, the description of the button is more appropriate for what it is causing, instead of what it should be. The phrases "where am I know?" or "what is this?" is often heard when suddenly entering BHS after a panic-button double-click.

The solution? Assigning a different button for switching home screen, ie. red teletext (any better ideas?).

I do think this is necessary to make MPs WAF increase further.

Thanks for reading, and please do comment!

Oh... the red one is enabeling full-screen, I suddenly recall, the rest I don't know (will check it out)

    1. Is it possible to have a "delayed" feature? Ie. holding the panic-button for X seconds -> switch home screen?

    2. Is the [info] / i - button used as well?

    Thank you for answering, mPod!

I would like to see a config option for disabling the BHS all together. I never use it and all in my house don't like it.
When the PC is in blank screen standby, pressing the green button wakes the PC but always ends up waking to BHS.

Would it be very hard to add an option to disable it?

    He he... Funny.

Not married, btw. Girlfriend, daughter and house - but no ring :D

I'll wait for your wife start bitching - then maybe we can work something out ;)

Anyway: The word is not "blame" - its "request". And I do (like others) find this "dual-home-screen-thingy" making things more difficult and confusing.

I understand that skinners love BHS - but there should be an option to disable it.
:D -for taking time to answer, anyway.
