I think the slideshow process might be much nicer with a couple of changes.
The first would be to use the theme background (possibly) with a black or white frame rather than a solid background. I think this would be more visually pleasing and consistent.
The second would be to have a setting to select and audio playlist to be the audio background for the slide show. Maybe if an m3u playlist is found in the folder the slideshow starts from it could be used as the audio and a single option could enable or disable the audio ?
I think the slideshow could even be a nice thing to run as a screensaver for the system if it is idle at the main menu. (although in that instance it really should remain silent and suppress the audio). Maybe a general setting could be added to opt for this.
