I have weird problem. In MP i can't watch HD content, because it's like "slideshow". If i alt-tab out, i can see FFDshow DXVA icon in tray and i have set it to accelerate H264.

On the other hand, MPC plays same movie flawlessly with same video codec (FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Any ideas?

That happens in SAF. In K-lite, mediaportal didn't even activated DXVA (it used standard FFDshow video decoder).

did you check your graphs using graphstudio? Follow hoborgs directions on the first page of the Stand Alone Filters 4 thread. Check the graphs between MPC and MP and see what differs. You may be using different codecs or they may be doubled up.

Good example of Codec hell. You should clear your system of all codecs first. Then install only the ones you want to use (can take SAF for this).

You can also check the graphs first, but my recommendation is to clean your system.

How can i clean all codecs? This is what i done with codecs:

    - Installed SAF & K-lite several times (always uninstalled first one before installing another)
    - Installed FLV splitter from Online videos.
    - Installed PowerDVD

Right now i have only SAF + PowerDVD codecs + FLV splitter installed.

If you think the codecs are clean, then check your graphs and you may find the problem.

There is no need to install any FLV splitter, SAF already have it.

I think that your problem is old UVD that your GPU have. In ffdshow DXVA decoder - hardware acceleration - compatibility mode use Skip all checks.

Or get UVD 2.0 GPU, like ATI 5450.

AW: Bad HD playing in MP

    @hoburg
I've an ATI 5450 but nearly all mkv's are so blocky - i can't watch any movie. I know this is another topic but if you recommand that card. Do you also have a solution for this?

Damaged HW? Overheating? Badly configured CCC? No idea.
All i can say i have 5450 in my HTPC - working like a charm, perfect picture.

    I have only MPEG-2 LiveTV.
I was trying some h.264 .TS recordings without any isue (PDVD 10 decoder with DXVA on) - well BBC HD with variable bitrate doesnot work correctly on PDVD 10 decoder, but that is different story.
All h.264 MKV using FFDshow DXVA decoder working fine for me (DXVA on) to 5.1 profile and 4 ref. frames.
But my HTPC is WinXP based, not Win7 - i still didnt found any reason to "upgrade" :D
