Belgium provider TéléSat compatible card (4 Viewers)

Hello gentlemen,

I'm puzzled about DVB-S USB tuner.
My plan is to find something to watch TéléSat broadcast in Belgium.

Here are the information I have.
Encryption is MediaGuard (but it is managed by CI module, right?)
Encodage is MPEG-4

I don't have too much space in my TVServer, the goal is to find a USB tuner.

Do you have any suggestion about that?

I went for a Technotrend S2-3650 HDTV-S2 USB+CI and it works very well.
The picture quality is great.

I've been using MP for two years without any problems watching the TNT channels (only rtbf 1,2,3 and euronews). And now I'm searching a solution to get more channels by a satellite.

Could you give me more information about your configuration and experience with telesat :

- Is it possible to get only the smartcard from telesat without buying a tv decoder?
- Which type and model of satellite do you have? In which direction is pointing the satellite?
- Could you watch and record multiple channels on same time? Or you must have multiple tv cards connected on one LNB?
- What about zapping from channels? Is it fast?
- Do you get an EPG via the satellite?
- I'm living at 30km from the French border and asking to my self if is it possible to take a canalsat or tps subscription. Is it normally only for French guys but could the satellite know your position at 30km?

J'ai vu ton post et ai été tenté d'y répondre, car je suis +/- dans la même situation que toi, à savoir, je cherche à regarder la TV via sat sur mon PC. J'ai perdu beaucoup de temps sous Linux, et maintenant j'essaie MP sous Windows Vista.

Je sais qu'il est possible d'acheter l'abonnement Telesat card uniquement. Mais il te faudra une CAM Mediagard.

Tu peux avoir l'EPG via sat.

Pour canalsat, si tu arrives à obtenir l'abonnement, aucun problème que tu sois en Belgique pour la réception. Le satelitte ne peut pas savoir que tu es en Belgique.


Quant à moi, j'ai un CAM Smit Viaccess et un abonnement prépayé BIS TV. Ma carte TV est une TT S3200 S2 avec CI, pointé sur HotBird 13E. J'ai d'énormes problèmes. En ce moment, je n'arrive qu'à voir que Gulli.

Bis TV est aussi un distributeur satellite français, non? Comment fais tu pour avoir un abonnement prepayé? Tu te rend dans le premier magasin de distribution à la frontière française?
Est-il possible de n'avoir que la carte chez Bis TV?

Est-ce que les problèmes que tu rencontres pour la réception des chaines sont liés au hardware PC, à la config de MP, au hardware de réception?

Yep, you're right.

You can buy Bis.TV prepaid card in most sat shops in Belgium. I bought mine in Brussels... There is also this good webshop 2galli.fr

The problems I have, I don't know yet the cause. I saw on a forum that the Smit Viaccess is not compatible with Bis.tv. I have contacted Viaccess, Smit and Bis for answers.

What do you plan to choose, Telesat, Bis or Canal+ ?

Quick update, I 've been able to test ùy setup with the PowerCAM cam. It worked pretty well. I could watch every channel of Bis.tv without problems.

Now I don't want to buy such cam because

- it is expensive
- it is not certified by Viaccess

Yes, it seems that Viaccess and PowerCam aren't in good terms ;-)

I suppose that you'll continue to find solution with your actual hardware (smit viaccess).

maybee you can help me. I would like to receive Telesat with mediaportal. Now my question is: is it possible to record a program and to look another one with mediaportal. Or can the CI Modul only decrypt one channel at a time?
