Hi,
yesterday I configured my MP for the first time.
In my system I have these codec installed:
- MPV (??)
- DScaler
- ffdshow
- Nvidia
- Cyberlink Power DVD 7

In the configuration tab I saw that you can choose which codec to use for dvd, divx, tv, ...
Which is the best codec to use?
In my system I have also TheaterTek 2.3 (whick uses ffdshow as filter post processing): in your opinion I should:
- use internal player and insert TT in My Program plugin;
- use TT instead of internal player

Best regards

Marco

FFDShow if set as default in its own settings will be default for decoding Divx\Xvid\MP4 any way, Really it's DVD files (MPeg2) and TV that you are looking for the best visual experience for yourself.

So suggest you play with the various mpeg2 decoders (FFDShow is not one of them) and see which you prefer.

Remember, you will not break anything by changing installed codecs.

If you have an ATI graphics card, then you'll probably get the best performance/results using the CyberLink Video decoder.

The NVIDIA decoder will be nearly as good on an ATI. You won't get the purevideo features, but all of the other bells and whistles will be there

It seems that for TV section the best codec is cyberlink Power DVD7.
The image is much more detailed and clear than MPV or nvidia codec(maybe because I use 91.47 nvidia driver).
