I´m very new at this and a bit confused. I´m in the process of buying all the parts needed for me to put together an HTPC and I need some help.
The building I live in is connected to a broadcasting company (Comhem) using DVB-C with only about 10 free channels. In order to get more channels you have to pay for it and they send you a Digital Box and a program card to put in it.
I am also conected to another company (Bredbandsbolaget) from where I get my LAN internet connection, they also offer pay TV over lan which uses DVB-S i think in the same manner with a box and a program card.
What I would like to do is to find an internal TV-Tuner to mount inside my HTPC preferrably dual for both DVB-C and DVB-T pr DVB-S but if not for either one of them. I´ve had a look at FloppyDTV and Twinhan DTV Cab-ci but don´t know much about this stuff.
From what I understand Win MCE 2005 is s**t and can only handle DVB-T and not any coded channels?? Therefore my choise of Mediaportal. I already have a Win MCE 2005 DVD - can I Run Mediaportal on this OS and get DVB-C and DVB-S to work with Mediaportal even though Win MCE cannot handle DVB-C and DVB-S ??
I have so many questions but I´ll start with these. Please help me sort this out !!
