Hi,

I have a digital everywhere dvb-c card in my HTPC, and have used the pdvd 9 mpeg-2 codec for a while to decode my tv signal. However I see a remarkable difference between the quality of this image, and the quality the decoder box gives when I hook that up. So is this a codec problem? And if so what codecs will do a better job? I am willing to pay for a good codec pack as I understand that this is complicated technology. I am also not a *pro* on the subject codecs so if you could give me some sites/articles in which I could read about this subject, it would be very usefull.

For some reason the powerdvd 9 codec doesnt seem to de-interlace TV video very well giving a poor picture in MP (the powerdvd 7 codec is flawless and gives a great picture).

Do you have windows 7? If so, ive found that the built in Microsoft DTV codec gives an excellent picture.
