Hi,

I have a 19" TV in the bedroom and have trouble seeing the default skin. Is there a better skin and / or a way to increase the font size?

Thanks,
Mark

MCE and BlueTwo are the best skins for use with CRT TVs. They have overscan already taken into account whereas other skins, you can loose a lot on the border.

No, its fixed for the skin (scaling font sizes would produce a lot of problems). You shouldnt be have readability problems unless your viewing the TV too far away or your using a low quality video input. But then again a 19" monitor is tiny, especially for a tv.

Is this true? I remember reading many hints like:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=17235&highlight=change+font+size
that tell you that you can change font size but it is a manual/unsupported feature.

You can change them manually that way, but things wont be scaled properly. Ie button text will not fit inside the buttons anymore etc.

True, but you'll be OK so long as you don't go mad. I used to increase the font size by 4 points when I used a CRT and it looked fine.

Thinking about this now, you probably also needed to delete the font cache files in the MP "Cache" folder. That would trigger MP to regenerate the font cache files the next time that the MP client starts. Sorry for forgetting to mention that. Excellent! I am glad that you found a solution that works for you :). Don't forget that when...

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.

Well, I had already recognized your problem, but I still wanted to point out the basic connections once again. Unfortunately, I don't have a fundamentally different solution for you, but with this approach you should achieve your goal. ;) The idea of first setting the current genre colors with the defines is certainly a good one, as...
