Hey all,
I'm, obviously, new to the whole HTCP thing, but taking a look at the solutions avaliable, MediaPortal looks absolutely awesome - especially considering it supports regular Windows XP.
I'm going away to college soon, and I figure instead of taking a TV (or my roommate taking one), I'll just get a TV Tuner installed in my computer, and watch television via my 24" LCD.
Here's the lowdown:
I'm trying to find the best PCI-Express TV Tuner that will work easily, and out of the box, with MediaPortal.
The dorms are going to have COX cable, and I need a tuner that can pickup the full range of unencrypted cable channels, and local channels (both HD or not).
And, the remote needs to work with MediaPortal.
Also, can MediaPortal be run in a window for multitasking purposes?

Everyone keeps telling me Windows Vista Media Center + The HVR-1250 is my only choice, but I don't buy it.
