I had problems with the normal releas of mediaportal in that when i loaded it the first time it basically froze up, resetting the pc without turning the power fixed it..
Upgrading to the alpha fixed these problems and the alpha was awesome, no problems, stable etc.

I assumed... that a beta version would be an improvement on an alpha..

so wrong, the beta is a big step back..

Main problem is it freezes, it stops on a channel, the channel keeps playing normally but you cannot change channels or anything else with mediaportal.

Apart from that, the installer in beta seems to be unstable also, seems to crash when trying to uninstall earlier versions etc..

Just complaining about "the beta" does nothing to help the devs improve anything that is a possible fault with the release.

If you think there is a fault, you could post logs and provide a proper bug report or lodge a support request detailling the specifics of the issue. (Not in this thread)

Just saying "it crashes" contributes nothing useful, and is unlikely to lead to a solution to your problem.

If you want to resolve it, you may want to read the Beta forum to see if anyone else is experiencing similar errors

A forum search for Beta may also yield relevant information

Or just complain. up to you.
