Summary: A progress bar or caching system for networked drives with videos mapped in the configuration for Media Portal

Area: My Videos

Description: My HTPC is in my living room connected to the videos over wireless. I have a Windows 2k3 Server with a large RAID 1 array with all of my movies. They are each in their own folder with plot description, maybe a preview... They are arranged in this way because not only media portal is browsing them and this way it keeps the thumbs.db and ds_stores from getting bloated with all the previews various OS's try to load.

Anyway, I have a batch script that runs at startup of the HTPC that logs into that resource, because the HTPC is not on the domain. Media portal starts up and can see the video folds and browsing through them is very fluid, unless Im on wireless. I would really like a system to remember the names and locations of the folders in the My Videos so I don't have to wait 10-15 seconds every time I ask the gui to do something. At the very least a progress bar telling me how much of the network resources has been browsed would be good instead of media portal looking like its locked up. If this has already been suggested, I am sorry, I searched and did not find a previous post.

Let me know if any clarification is needed, and thank you Media Portal team for having somewhere I can post suggestions.
