Hi ,

today i finally had time to install the TVServer. I followed the instructions of the tutorials step by step and finished successfully. Installation ran smooth and easy.

Now im using latetest TVServer Build (02/24/2007) and latest MediaPortal SVN (02/24/2007)

Watching TV doesn´t work that smooth, though. The picture often just freezes while changing channels, epg isn´t working at all (i activated epg for all channels and turned of the german lang. config) and the TV Mode is always off when i´m entering MP.

I have a TechniSat SkyStar2 DVB-S Card installed.

Anyone got any hints where to start ?

Thanks to everyone,

Wurzelseppi

No logs and no system configuration?

How should someone be able to help you?

In MP setup you can set the TV mode to "on" when entering MyTv.

The Skystar2 generally works great with tvengine2 and 3 (server),
so it's probably just a matter of configuration.

    Hi,
I think there is a problem with DVB-EPG grabbing. I had the same problems.

Switch of the EPG (Languge and Channels) ... NONE to all... then restart the server and try again.

Since i use the TVMovie importer i have no problems with switching between channels.

Hi, i thought there are some general tipps and that´s why i didn´t provide any logfiles.....

I don´t have access to them now, for i´m at work, but i´ll reinstall the whole thing tonight anyway and will give info on how it worked out for me......

    Thanks anyway so far...

    Hi Wurzelseppi,

EPG takes time and it will be only fetched while nobody accesses the server (my experience). You should see it in the management console.

I made also the experience - if the timeout time of the EPG grapper is to less (like 1-3 min) the EPG grapper generates exceptions. So keep the times default.
