I have MP working to my liking with one exception. I am not able to play .bin files. I can play them in VLC player, but when I set MP up to use VLC as my external player, it will not open the movie. screen just stays blank with no audio either. I'd like to use VLC player within MP, but I have not been able to set it up correctly to work seamlessly. Perhaps someone could give me some tips or point me to a thread that'll help. Is VLC my only option for playing .bin/.cue files?

Thanks

BIN/CUE files are actually virtual CD files, and VLC has a very handy function built in to read these files and extract the video.

You can acheive the same in Mediaportal by installing 'Daemon Tools' and configuring it via the 'General' configuration option.

When configured correctly, Mediportal will trigger Daemon tools when you select a CUE/BIN/ISO/NRG file. Daemon tools will then load the data and emulate a CDROM device in windows.

I am able to run these files in stand alone VLC, but when I set up VLC as my external player, it will not play. Perhaps i'm not configuring correctly. any chance you could guide me through this. (or would it be easier to use Deamon tools?).

    thanks!
