    Hi all,

I'm new to XFactor, and I really like it... coming from StreamedMP, I notice the readability of many screens is better in XFactor.

I have one item that I'm trying to change, though.

I'm using the XFactor basic home with RSS... the one with ellipses and vertical sub-menu within the ellipse.

I find that the text for the sub-menu is hard to read when there is menu thumbnail image behind it. So, I've been trying to use the basic home editor to use a black menu thumbnail image that I created. That way, it will be light text on a black backing... easier to see.

But, it seems that some of the thumbnails take this new image, but others just stay the same.

I've verified that my changes were in XFactor.xml.

I cleared the cache, but still, several of the menu items still use the original thumbnail images... for example: exit, Movie Trailers, etc.

And there are some that start off having black, but as you cycle through, they revert to their original image backing... weird.

Any idea how I can have a black backing on the sub menus?

    Thanks.

    Geoff

    Hi :)

I have just tested this and it seems to work for me.

Only done Menu6 for the test:
    • Create an image called menu_black_color_r.png
    • Open Menu editor and select Menu6
    • Change the Menu6 Thumbnail to menu_black.png in right column. Note that this file does not really exist, but xfactor transform the name for the xfactor-menu by adding _color_r to the filename.
    • Select 1st sub-menu-entry in right column
    • Then change the sub-menu thumbnail to menu_black.png in middle column
    • Then click the >> button in middle column
    • Repeat for each sub-menu entry
    • Generate, save
    • Clear cache
    • Start MP

My attached image is not perfect, but you get the idea.

If yours still does not work, please give more detail/steps you followed.

    That worked!

I guess I had my thumbnail named incorrectly. I didn't have the _color_r.png in the name.

    Thanks.
