black screen after running full screen program? (1 Viewer)

Okay, i am trying to use the My Programs plugin so i can launch my games, i'm using the file launcher feature and indeed games do start fine, i quit the games and all i get is a blank black screen, if i press a button on the remote i can hear Media Portal but obviously can't see it. How do i correct this?

Also, pressing ALT + F4 closes Media Portal, the black screen dissappears to make way for the desktop.

I have exactly the same problem. In fact, every time a full screen application is launched (even the screensaver), the skin remains black. But the text appears. I've tried different options in the Mediaportal setup but it has no impact on that issue. Did anybody else experience the same problem? It could be linked to the driver as Geon106 also seems to have the Forceware 9.

yeah, sometimes the desktop taskbar/start menu is present at the bottom, and i click on it, but i can just hear media portal as tho the taskbar isn't actually there.

I've tried the Auto-focus plugin, making media portal always on top, different options in My Programs, My Apps(didn't work at all), all sorts really.

its irritating because being able to launch games(and indeed other programs) from within media portal is a big feature and for it to not work ruins the experience.

So I still have the same probleme....running games in fullscreen...and when i want to exit the game and go back to mediaportal screen...I can only see a black screen...

anyone has solved the probleme?

i think i've worked it out.

In the configuration make sure Media Portal isn't set to always on top.

Next, disable "Exclusive DirectX"

I done that and after exiting games it goes back to Media Portal

I'm assured that the plug-in itself is quite buggy. Running any programs or games (fullscreen or windowed) using the MyEmulators, Multishortcut, or EasyApps 3rd party plugins has worked flawlessly thus far.

After using the EasyApps for a bit, it looks like the checkbox that says to minimize mediaPortal until exit must be checked for it to actually run the program. I guess it is a bit buggy as well.

The Multishortcut seemed to correctly load windowed and fullscreen programs over MediaPortal, so that should work, although the primitive setup interface and the need to duplicate the dll for multiple instances can be irritating.

I have a similar problem, so I'll try to write it here for a start.

After running a fullscreen App (a game), I sometimes get black screen when trying to watch fullscreen TV or videos. It's not the same problem as you guys, since I can see Mediaportal without a problem, and I can even watch tv when it is not full screen (I.e. when it is running as a small window, or in the live tv screen), but when I try to make it fullscreen it goes black.

This problem only happens sometimes, and is not the same, but I thought it might be related to what you are experiencing, since it is only triggered after having launched a fullscreen app using MyPrograms.

I am using 0.2.2 with a new SVN (can't remember the excact number, I'm at work right now), TvEngine 2, and Bluetwo 4:3.

Hello. I've got the same problem.

Version 0.2.2.0

This problem is very important for me, because in the last RC1 + SVN it's impossible to launch external programs, so if both version doesn't allow me to launch games from mediaportal, i must switch to another mediacenter software such as meedio or xlobby.

Does someone have a solution?
