After the install I satrt up TV-server setup. No sweat. After that the setup of MediaPortal, just like the book tells me to do.
Last but no least I satrt up Media Portal. After loading everything I'm turned up with a nice black screen.
The skin is working, for the skin makes sounds if I klick the mouse

    Sorry.
Should have updated the specs: there is a AGP Ati card in the machine with the acquired amount of memmory. It should not be the problem.
Even with the intergrated card I could get a picture. I believe it must something else, but hey, I'm a newbee

After getting rid of the ATI rage pro 128, it all woked like a sunshine!
It was a directx problem with the AGP card (ATI Rage Pro 128). The onbord Intel chipset didn't have a problem with directx.:):):):):):):)
Next thing is to hook up the telly with the PC
