I got a few problems here, but maybe they are all related. The problem manifests itself differently sometimes, but I'll first describe what just happened and what I have logs for.
I am currently running a clean RC4 with SVN from 5/11 1:08.
AMD Sempron 64 2300+, ATI 550 Pro PCI and PCIe(currently not activated), a wireless G modem PCI, and an NVIDIA 7600GT PCIe (currently 84.66 drivers, but I've tried them all with same results).
I set it up to do some recording of random episodes spaced far enough apart so that I could test its stability coming in and out of standby and completing the recordings without crashing. Out of four episodes (or thereabouts) only one recorded. It crashed when attempting the second recording and never bothered attempting the rest. When I checked in on it the screen was black (outputing to VGA, but will be outputing through S-video when stable). Remote seemed to be working (able to go in and out of standby), but my monitor was recieving no signal (so it wasn't just a generic black screen). Hitting CTL-ALT-ESC did nothing, forgot to try hitting ESC before resetting computer. Also, it had to come out of standby for first recording (aroudn 3:00), and that one came out fine. It was coming out of standby the second time that seemed to fail.
Anyway here's the logs, only the ends of them, if you need more let me know. I am unsure how long posts are allowed to be or how truncating works:
In this particular case the computer did go into standby, probably because I was telling PowerScheduler to use windows inbuilt. In other situations where PowerScheduler was in control the system would not enter standby and would be at the homescreen, but be unresponsive and have to be reset.
I'm really hoping to get this problem nailed down before final release as it has been plagueing me from the beginning (around RC2). I was hoping it would clear up, but that doesn't seem to be the case. As a refrence SageTV mostly worked, but would occasionally stop outputing TV signal to the display and complain about a lost connection to the DirectX device or somesuch nonsense. Restarting Sage would solve the problem. GB-PVR works perfectly; no lost signal, no GUI crashes, in and out of standby without issues. But I LOVE MediaPortal. It is more attractive and feels more intuitive, so I would love to get it working.

5/11/2006 4:55:09 PM mpeg2:StartRecording() FAILED to create recordingIn this particular case the computer did go into standby, probably because I was telling PowerScheduler to use windows inbuilt. In other situations where PowerScheduler was in control the system would not enter standby and would be at the homescreen, but be unresponsive and have to be reset.
I'm really hoping to get this problem nailed down before final release as it has been plagueing me from the beginning (around RC2). I was hoping it would clear up, but that doesn't seem to be the case. As a refrence SageTV mostly worked, but would occasionally stop outputing TV signal to the display and complain about a lost connection to the DirectX device or somesuch nonsense. Restarting Sage would solve the problem. GB-PVR works perfectly; no lost signal, no GUI crashes, in and out of standby without issues. But I LOVE MediaPortal. It is more attractive and feels more intuitive, so I would love to get it working.
Sorry for long post, but any help would be appreciated.
