Been through many reports of black screens when starting live TV but since the 1.1 Beta I have had regular occurrences of a complete black screen on resume from S3 standby. I had a couple of issues previously with 1.02 but this is different. Previously MP had not closed down correctly before standby and killing MP after resume would send the machine straight back into standby. With SVNs MP appears to be running quite happily but there are no visuals... If I kill and restart MP all works fine.

Will post logs when I get home from work but I had a quick look before I left this morning and there does not appear to be anything in there that gives any hints as to the problem.

I did read a thread about disabling visualisations in music? I could not however quite understand what this was meant to fix? Has anyone else got this issue or any ideas on what the issue is?

One thing which is odd is that tv.bak ends at 01:16 but tv.log starts at 07:18 the following morning

as you can see from the logs I scheduled reccordings at midnight and the 2am. The 2am recording was not recorded.

The EPG is also scheduled to wake the machine at 5am and it does not look like this happend either.

All logs (and activity) seem to be missing after 01:16 bu there are no details of any sort of crash etc ????

You're not the only one with the "failure to wake up" problem. Look in the thread for this SVN. However, there doesn't seem to be any response.

MP Config -> General -> toggle the following options

    USB S3 HACK/WORKAROUND
NVIDIA RESTART ON RESUME (try this even if you have ati)

    Alternatives

Try MCE MST Standby tool by sick solutions

    (or)

    MP Standby Handler plugin

Tried all but none work (in fact all of them introduce more problems). The S3Hack is to do with the messages your mobo sends to wake up the PC and it not quite related to this.

I have narrowed this down (I think) to the client powerscheduler and /or MP being active when the machine goes into standby. I have turned off the client powerscheduler and I am closing MP when I am done and I have not had a single issue now in several days. Looking to knock up an alternative client powerscheduler plugin if I get the chance.

i had similar problem with crash on resume post MP Client powerscheduler inititated S3 sleep, but forcing MP to restart on each resume has 'solved' this problem
