I have just installed my new card and when I go to tune for channels on 28.2 East there is no signal.

At the moment I installed the latest driver and in the tv config can see all 5 tuners. I thought the problem could be that the card is a hybrid so I created groups for sat, terrestrial and analogue tuners.

Btw- I am running miroslav22 version 1.1.1 on W7 x64 and have no problem with my other two tuners.

    Hi!

Its not a hybrid (not sure about the analogue part though).
Have you powered it up with external 12V for the LNA power?
    Are you using diseq switch?

    Thanks for your quick response.

Yes you are correct I was too eager and forgot the power supply

Unfortunately it appears my power supply doesn't have the 4pin cable so I will need to get an adapter.

Got the adapter and got signal on both satellite tuners but can not get both tuners to work at the same time. When I disable either one the y both work individually but as soon as both are enabled only one tuner can be used.
Should both tuners have the same name or would this cause a problem?

    Hi there

Other people have that tuner working fine in MediaPortal - the fact that the tuners have the same name is not a problem. What you *do* need to be aware of is that if you have both sat tuners connected to a power-pass splitter rather than a proper multi-switch or multi-output LNB then you can only use both tuners on transponders with the same polarity. Lets have a small example:

    Transponder A
    ------------------
    - ch 1
    - ch 2
    - ch 3

    Transponder B
    -----------------
    - ch 4
    - ch 5
    - ch 6

If transponder A and B are both horizontal then you can watch/record channels 1, 2 and 3 on one tuner and channels 4, 5 and 6 on the second tuner. Same applies if they're both vertical transponders. However, if one is horizontal and the other is vertical then you'll have trouble. The low level signalling for horizontal is 18V; vertical is 13V. The splitter only passes the highest of the voltages it receives from the tuners connected to it. In other words, if you are ever watching a channel on a horizontal transponder on any tuner connected to the splitter then you'll only be able to watch channels on horizontal transponders on any other tuners connected to the splitter. Going back to our example, if transponder A is horizontal and B is vertical then you'll only be able to watch channels 1, 2, and 3.

Hope the above makes sense. If you knew that already or are using a multiswitch or multi-output LNB (with one output for each tuner) then please ignore the above and post some logs showing an example of the problems you're talking about.

By the way, none of the tuners on that card are hybrid. You don't want to group them like that ;)

    Thanks for the advice

All sorted now that I fully uninstalled and avoided the hybrid card add-ins.
