Hi all. Is anyone here using the new-ish Blackgold BGT3595 card? I have the older one which was just DVB-S but I fancy upgrading to this new DVB-S2 card. Just wondering if it's OK with MP and its drivers are stable etc...

TIA

Jon.

Hi to everyone,
i am using win7 32 with Media portal 1.1.1 and the following cards:

1. Floppy DVB-S (single dvb-s/s2 card)
2. Blackgold BGT3595 (dual dvb-s/s2, dual dvbt, dual analog card)
3. Hauppauge 2220 (dual dvbt, dual analog card)
4. Hauppauge 250 pvr (single analog)

my main problem is with the BGT3595. In media portal Tv Server configuration i get only one Analog Card (7231 BDA) and not two.
All the other cards are shown correctly but i am missing one analog tuner from the BGT3595. I guess it has something to do with the drivers.

I am just thinking that the card has a single analog chip!!!!! Windows Media Cener 7 seems to get the analog channels with no problem at all.!!!

Im thinking about buying this card but i need to make sure it handles the HD channels on thor with symbolrate 30000 correctly (no packet loss)

Can anyone confirm this?

regards
Jacob

Although its odd to have only a sinle analog tuner, media portal doesn't like it at all. I try to configure the card as a hybrid card but there is no luck. I get no analog reception with BGT3595 with media portal.

I would be happy to try and help you sort this out. If you want some help:
    1. Clear your TV Server tv.log and error.log
    2. Attempt to tune/scan an analog TV or FM channel (something that you know doesn't work)
    3. Post your tv.log and error.log here.

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

It's getting weirder..... If I remove all the IP cards in the TVServer setup and then add them back I can scan the M3u and tune the stations but if I rescan it on the same card it just keeps updating the 1 channel. My brain is melting.........

I did a check of MP 1.36 x64 on Win11 and I can confirm, that the TV server correctly detects running MediaPortal.exe process.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...
