Blu Ray and DVD cover mix (1 Viewer)

With many people now ripping Blu Ray discs to their HTPC I'm curious to know if it would be possible to have the skin display DVD covers for DVD rips and blue ray covers for blue ray rips.

Currently (as i know you will be aware) streamedMP resizes all covers to a set size of DVD proportions and if you use a Blu Ray cover it will stretch it taller.

The skin is able to display the correct file info on the screen eg resolution, audio type, codec etc so would it be possible to use the same technique to adjust the size of the cover art and cover art overlay? ie if the resolution is SD display it in DVD size and if the resolution is 720 or 1080 display the cover in Blu Ray proportions?

I've asked for this in the past. I don't think it's something that is easy to implement with the different aspect ratios.

I suggest using something like Ember Media Manager and downloading high quality DVD covers for your Blu-Rays as well. You can than just use the 1080p flag in Moving Pictures to distinguish between SD and HD content.

I do use DVD covers for my blu rays currently but would be better to have dvd covers for dvds and blu ray covers for blu rays.

At some point i'm sure we will start to see things released on blu ray but not on dvd so there wouldn't be a dvd cover available to use. Awhile off yet maybe i know but it will happen.
