Hi there.
I have a question for you....

First i´d like to say that i use MP 0.2.0.0 all the time and i must say that it works really great, and is really stable.....
I have only one issue.... (no actually two, but the other one can wait:) )

When i record from TV with my Hauppauge PVR150, i get a unsharp/blurry recordings (or playback ?).....
Even with the blurry/unsharp recordings i use MP over my old VCR any day, it is so mutch easy´er and more flexible to use MP..... :)
When i wiew TV directly on the tv-card the recordings is almost crystal clear....

I think perhaps this is a codec issue or something, but i´m not shure.....

The blurry/unsharp recordings is even thoug i always use setting:
"HIGH" Averge:6000, Peak:10000, VBR....
Framesize: 720x576 PAL/SECAM (Recomended)

So pleace can you help me ??

Have you tried changing the codecs properties, ie bob, weave, best.

if not try the nvidia purevideo trial and see if that works for you.

PowerDVD, WinDVD are also good codecs if you can get them.

    I have the same experience.
Have you got a solution, like another codec or anything else?
Maybe we just have to get a better TV-card?

    Godt Nyttår!

I second the nVidia codec, but there are other Hauppauge tweaks as well. Although the Hauppauge website lists .24103 as the newest drivers, there is actually an MCE update that works well with MP:

You can also grab the Hauppauge Tweak Tool, which provides a variety of advanced settings:

I've also (recently) discovered that monitor resolution makes a huge difference. Although my picture quality was nearly as good as my STB, forcing my video card to output 720x576 instead of 800x600 ended up creating a better picture than the STB. With the ATI Radeon card, you can find the "Force" option in your Catalyst Control Center.
