Thanks gabbe,

You are right in every aspect and I've had most of them up for concideration one time or another. I will now comment the suggestions.

1/ If the user have done any input (keyboard, mouse) then PS should never suspend/hibernate automaticly. It's up to the user (or windows internal shut down timers) when he wants power off / hibernate / suspend. Many people (at least me) have other tasks ongoing sometimes (server, DC, whatsoever)
2/ If PS have waked up the computer for a task, then after the task have completed, PS should put it to the same sleepstate as it was in before. But only if the user don't have done any inputs (keyb, mouse).
Disable automatic shutdown when manual input detected could be an option - I'll think it over.

Using windows internal shut down timers won't work since the active wake-up-timer prevents system from going into sleep. (maybe this can be resolved)

Havn't checked this out yet but in theory you should leave the "forced shutdown" (in PS confiq) unchecked and any good written services or other program would have the don't-allow-to-shutdown-now-bit set which prevents the shutdown from being executed.
3/ I think its better to kill MP before going to sleepstate, and start it after a resume (than any h/w shouldn't have any problem!). PS must take in care to start MP (other small exe) after a resume from hibernate or suspend. After a cold/warm boot it's up to the user to start MP throught "autostart".
This could be done but I'm not sure it's worth the time.
I'll stick with the inside MP solotion for now.
But hey, it's opensource :D, someone else may think it's worth the time.

Ok, I did some more testing. I made a very stupid mistake by hibernating the system when MP was not running. I was in the assumption that the Powerscheduler would also start MP up automatically in case it was not running... (perhaps a feature request?)

However I still had one occassion when the system didn't start up. Probaly this was due to the fact that I had set my time that the system should record before and after the show set to big, which causes the start time to be in the past.

29-11-2004 18:54:05 PowerScheduler: Set wakeup timer at 29-12-2004 18:53:05
29-11-2004 18:54:05 PowerScheduler: Shutdown timer activated, automatic shutdown in 3 minutes

It's interesting to see that at 29-11-2004 18:54:05 you see that the wakeup time is set at 29-12-2004 18:53:05 (which is in the past). I think this is an issue which cannot be solved. When the user is that stupid to hibernate the system when it's recording then the user is to blame :)

Sorry to bother you Fred...

HenryM,
29-12-2004 is one month in the future (not in the past), and hey, this must be the BUG! I didn't notice this before!
fred, is this a bug? is there a quick workaround to solve it? (quick update?) Please :p

@henryM
So, is PowerScheduler02 in MP01000 now really working for you (with a serie of programmed TV-Shows, hybernating automatically between this programmed shows, and automatik awake (1Minute) before sarting Record?
So what Options have you set in Powerscheduler? Share your experience with me!

doit4u,
I have set the system to hibernate, further no options are checked. I have scheduled a couple of of programmed shows for tonight/tomorrow in order to check if it works. If I have more information I try to post it in this thread.

It's no bug, it's intended, maybe not best practice but yet intended.
If there are no pending recordings the wake-up-time will be set to a month in the future.

Anyway this will be changed in future releses so no wake-up-time will be set if nothing pending.
Note: a recording that already should have started is concidered being in the past and won't trigger a wake-up.

BTW I've noticed that if you go into MyTV while a recording is in progress MP switches to timeshift and stays there. I don't know why or what causes it but it sure is a problem to look into.
My experience is that as long as you don't switch to MyTV during a recording eveything works fine.
