Hey guys

Just a quick one, i have a rule which displays a logo if an episode is a specific length. Reason for this is i have created place holder mpg's that are named correctly but are just a movie clip showing the text "Please insert correct TV DVD". Since i have over 200 DVD's with episodes, parsing each dvd one after the other is not my idea of fun, so this is how i worked around the issue. The problem i have now, is that the Logo does not display inside MP. In the TV Series config, it works fine, but in MP itself, it just does not display. My other rule for 720p video works fine, but this one based on file length just refuses to play! If you require a log file or anything, let me know. I know Inker has looked at this bug before, and there didnt appear to be anything in the log file, but any assistance would be appreciated!

PS.

Ideally, i would like the ability to manually add info to the database, IE: I manually choose a series, season and episode which is not actually on my hdd, and the system flags that this episode is on removable media. Then if this episode is selected, it displays a message saying "Please insert media". I don't need it to play directly from the media, since when i insert it, it pops up in MP and i just manually select it. If there was a field that i could complete so that if i know the DVD name, it actually says "Please insert "TV 115"" or whatever, that would be even better.

EDIT:

Might as well kill two birds with one stone :) The other long standing issue i have is when i load the TV Series plugin for the first time, only 1 banner shows up. If i go out of the plugin and back in, ALL of them show. This only happens between PC resets, so for example i can close MP and open it up again and it shows all the banners fine. There are about 185 series there, so a LOT of banners, dunno if that is part of the issue...

Like we discussed last time, I am unable to reproduce either error, so it is difficult to say anything.

    Regarding 1)
If i remember correctly from the log last time, the rule gets evaluated properly and returns the correct result, so its either a problem with append that logo file (to test this delete all other other logo rules so that only that one remains and see if it displays it then) or the logo file itself (did you try another image file, maybe its huge, slightly corrupted so that DX can't load it). I cannot think of anything else.

    2) No idea, and nobody else seems to experience this. Do you have MP on autostart? Does it work if you delay the MP startup for say 1 min after OS boot?

I have tried with various different logo's and with just this rule, and it seems to make no difference. The weird thing is inside the setup it shows the logo beautifully when i am browsing through the files. But inside MP it just doesnt show :(

I will try a delayed start of MP now and see if the Banners show properly.

Edit: Delayed start made no difference. Interestingly enough, if i go into MP into the TV series plugin from a fresh reboot, it takes about a minute to load, then it only loads the one banner. Thereafter if i go into and out of the plugin, or even MP its fine... until i reboot again... EVEN if i delete the cache for that skin, it still loads the all the banners fine, until i reboot.

Okay, heres a humdinger for you :) I copied the logo rule that is working for my 720p media, and i changed it to match my DVD logo rule (Set it for the size of the place holder file) and it doesnt work!!! The ONLY difference now is that the media it is matching for the DVD logo is an mpg (mkv for the 720p) and the file itself is only 767kB since its a very short little clip.... very strange

Edit2: And just to throw a further spanner in the works, when my machine comes out of screensaver mode, it stops displaying ANY logos :(

Ok. Not sure if anyone is following this at all, but i have found out something interesting about these 2 bugs.

When i load the plugin for the first time, it only shows one series (24) since it is at the top of the list. Interesting thing is, when i go into the series and look at the episodes, it shows the DVD logo rule absolutely fine! When i go out of the plugin and back in and it shows all the series, the DVD logo rule no longer works....
