Hi,

1.) Add two files to your music library. Name the artist of the first one "Dusty Springfield" and name the second one "Dust".
2.) Switch your music view to "Artist"
3.) Navigate to the letter D.
4.) Navigate to Dusty Springfield
5.) Activate "Show Artist/Album info
6.) On the list of artists in the popup window select Dusty Springfield
7.) Now navigate to Dust
8.) Activate "Show Artist/Album info"
--> The Artist information of Dusty Springfield is shown

It seems that you search for the first artist that starts with Dust and Dusty Springfield is found. But Dusty Springfield is not the artist I selected ...

Thanks
Honey

This has been fixed long before the release of 0.2.3.0.
You need to rescan your Music Library

Then there's something wrong. I use the initial 2.3 release. The scan was done with that release. This is the first time that I scanned my library completely - I didn't do that before. Needless to say that I dropped the complete Team-Mediaportal folder before installing.

Can somebody please verify that? You need to find two artists and apply the data for the longer artist first. E.g.:

"Dusty Springfield" and then "Dust"
"Manfred Manns Earth Band" and then "Manfred Mann"
...

Greetings
Honey

P.S.: Why do you think this might be scan related? IMHO this is a bug in the way you fetch the data. If you select for 'Dust%' you'll find 'Dusty Springfield'.

Well i did it exactly with "Dust" and "Dusty Springfield" and it's ok.

Please reproduce it on an empty database, with the sares just pointing to some sample files.
Then send me the database. i would like to have a look at it. I'll PM you my mail address.

It is the Scanning, which writes the data in a special format to the database, so that the selection gets it correct.
