After giving this some thought, I'm thinking of putting together a radio / music player (to replace an old sony CD/ Radio player) using an MSI U100 Wind I found laying around. I'm planning on converting it fully to radio looking device, using an MCE remote and a touch panel. (I'll post some pictures, if I ever get this project done).
However, on the software side of things, I'm a bit worried, as the laptop has only a resolution of 1024x600 and I wanted to be able to see the screen easily from a small distance away. Has anybody done such a setup previously, or could guide me along the right tracks for the use of a right skin?
Also, as this is only going to be a client, pulling content from a shared folder on the TV server, does anybody have any idea how I could add FM radio or other interesting audio sources?
I'm leaning towards using MediaPortal as the front-end, due to it's flexibility, but if any other options are avaliable, I'm willing to explore.
