I have a wireless keyboard that I'd like to use occasionally for 'onlinevideos' searching specifically, Currently using the built-in 'on screen keyboard' seems to be the only way to "type" (that is, use the arrow keys to move the cursor around the keyboard and hit enter on each letter. Is there a simple way to allow normal typing for text-fields which use the MediaPortal on-screen keyboard? I ask here because I think this is a standard module used not just by onlinevideos

I don't know how it's plugged-in to MediaPortal but this is what it looks like when OnlineVideos Calls it, and I believe some of the settings screens use it too

I just tested it on another machine and the keyboard can type letters as one would expect. It's just on my HTPC it doesn't work (keyboard works fine outside of Media Portal)

Thanks for that.

I am using the Multishortcut plugin to run Firefox internet browser from the basichome screen, and it is working fine.
But I control MP with a mouse only, so would like an onscreen keyboard.

In the plugin config for Firefox I can set "Use Virtual Keyboard" to true, but when I click the icon to run Firefox, only the OSK appears. If I then click DONE on the OSK, Firefox appears and the OSK disappears.

Perhaps I need an overlay button on the Firefox screen to restore to OSK.

It suddenly started working the other day but now I get "a2" whenever I type an "a" and it crashes all of MediaPortal pretty regularly
