    Hi Guys,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to map a button on my MCE Remote control to execute a batch file??

Ideally I'd like to press the "tv" button and then run a batch file to have my MCE remote blaster turn on my TV, wait 3 seconds and then change the input on my TV to be DVI (because my stupid Grundig Plasma TV doesn't remember that we were watching the DVI input before turing it off...) :(

I think I've got what I need to do the blasting bit - I just can't see how to map a remote control button to fire off the batch file...

    Thanks for any help...

I don't know of any way to do that, but you could try the plugin I'm working on at the moment. It has something I've called "Command Sequences" which will let you do things like "TV on, wait 3 seconds, set source".

It's still in development and it requires a recent SVN (post Sept-21st) and the replacement MCE driver, but it might just be the answer to your problem. Have a read of this thread and if you're interested give it a go.

Hi Guys, I think I give up. I'm going to sell the TV and buy a better one - a little extreme I know but I wanted a HD plasma anyway and this is a good excuse I guess...

I actually tried and-81's recommendation but when I installed the alternate driver both my remote and keyboard stopped working. (for some reason the remote shows up as "eHome recevied" rather than "MCE remote" as per instructions.

Anyway - thank you both for the input.

Well, since I last posted in this thread I have added the ability to launch external programs from my plugin, so now I can answer your original question with "Yes".

And, You can use the plugin without installing the replacement driver.

It needs a recent SVN, but aside from that it will do what you wanted.

    Hope that helps,
