Synopsis:

Hi everyone

OK I am probably really stupid... Please don't answer that!!

I have two TV devices. Device 1 is a Hauppauge WINTV-PVR2 USB Analogue and the other is a Hauppauge WINTV-NOVA-S DVB.

I wanted to get these two devices working in the same PC under Media Portal. I contacted Hauppauge and they just did not want to entertain me!

"We dont' support multiple cards in the same machine - I don't think it's possible" was what was said to me.

So can anyone help me with this issue.

When I install the PVR2 everything is fine and the remote works correctly.

When I add the NOVA-S to the mix the PVR remote just stops working. I can not tell if the NOVA remote works or not as they have not packaged the IR reciever and I have to wait for it to be posted. Typical.

So after all that I guess my question is this can I get these two devices working together in the same PC or and I barking mad!!

Thanks for any help, as always it is apprecaited.

Regards.

I got a Nova-T & a HVR-1300 running in the same machine. The card that's first in BIOS can use the remote control. All is working more than perfectly, both even use the same driver package. :D

Hi

Thanks for the replies, having 2 pci cards and it defaulting to the 1st listed in BIOS makes sense. However one of mine is a USB device?

Not sure what the deal is with that anyone got any idea?

I have managed to get both cards working simultaniously but so far alas no remote function, however I can ony check the one remote until I get the IR receiver through the post.

Anyone actually using a PVR2 with an additional internal PCI?

Thanks

I bet the remote will be active on the USB device then. I guess you have to wait until the eye/blaster arrives. ;)

Hi

OK the new remote eye came..... :(

Samething. Install both devices and they appear ok in the device manager. However the hauppauge IRremote icon in the taskbar does not appear. I run MP and no control at all. When I leave MP I get an error from the IR software.

So I think that perhaps 2 units trying to use the same IRRemote is causing the problem. However you can not just disable the IR software nor can you disable the IR on one or other in the device manager as they are connected to other devices listed in the device manger!!!

Has any one actually managed to do this? and actually get the remote working or is everyone with two devices just using the mouse or keyboard to control MP?

Thanks
