Subject line says it all.
I'm in Sydney, Australia, and I've downloaded the Sydney.xml file from xmltv.net.
Do I have to rename it to tvguide.xml, or can I keep the same name as was downloaded?
Thanks in advance, for any help.
The XMLTV plugin, installed with MediaPortal, allows the import of a tvguide.xml file created by WebEPG or another XMLTV program into the TV database to display information in the TV Guide.
I think you might have misunderstood my question.
The chapter you linked for me makes no mention of the ACTUAL FILE NAME, nor does it mention anything about alternative file names, and I couldn't find any relevant information in that chapter, which is why I posted this question on the forum.
I'll try to rephrase it for you:
I have downloaded an xmltv guide file called "Sydney.xml"
I downloaded the file from "
."
I have saved Sydney.xml to the xmltv folder, "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\SlimTVCore\v3.0\xmltv," where the file, "xmltv.dtd," is already stored.
Do I have to RENAME "Sydney.xml" to "tvguide.xml," or can I keep the file name"Sydney.xml"?
The linked guide says "Browse to the folder where your tvguide.xml is located".
So you need to rename the file to be recognized. I think would have been faster to just try it
OK, but it doesn't actually say that the file MUST be named "tvguide.xml."
Also, isn't it supposed to update automatically? How can it do that if the file have been renamed?
Anyway, I'll try it and see what happens.
I'll let you know the result tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.
