can I start MP in movies section and other questions (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I would like to use media portal only for the movies part of the software, so my question would be if there is a way of installing the program oging directly to 'movies'.

also, can I customize the menu so that I can have a 'close' or minimize button on the main movies screen? the reason for this is that I want to close MP when done with the movies section, instead of having to go back to main menu. maybe minimize is better in case MP takes a while to start.

Hi,

you may try the autostart plugin:
https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Plugins/Automation/Autostart/

Its not maintained, but hopefully it still works with latest stable MP.

For extra buttons you have to modify the appropriate xml file of your used skin. Should by something like myvideos.xml. Take a look into the home.xml to see how the shutdown / minimize buttons work.

Ok, I thought the autostart plugin was for TV only. Obviously I was wrong.

just noted I made a mistake in my first post...I dont want to 'install' only the movies part, I meant 'start' the program already in the movies section instead of main section...guess you understood my question anyway, will try your suggestion.
