I have dish network and I was thinknig can I replace my reciever with media portal? And can i use tv guide and schedule a recording with this and could I connect a universal remote with it also?
It may be useful for you to state what country you are in and what provider(s) you wish to access via your dish. The answer regarding your epg may also require this information.
Regarding your universal remote control, the short answer is 'yes'. For the longer answer (about how to do it), use the 'search' button above, select advanced search, and type the name [ie, 'Harmony'] of your remote then search in titles only
Generally speaking its just a matter of programming your Universal as a standard remote (ie as a Windows Media Centre remote) and then using it with MP.
I was wondering the same thing. I know that I would need to connect my receiver to the input of my media center, but can the media center become a DVR for the dish network receiver? Set the input to channel 3 on the media center and set the Dish network receiver to auto tune to the channel for recording.

It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :(
MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
