You could try an old version of show shifter

I use showshifter 2 on an old 450mhz computer with windows 98

Its not as good as media portal but it will play dvds mp3 files and movies.

Only way to see is to try :)

I remember my P3-133 was perfectly able of playback of MP3's, but there are other more CPU intensive formats that wouldn't play (that was around 1997 i think...)

IMO a linux derivative would be your best choice if you need a frontend, but you'll need some more memory to compensate for the lack of cpu power, because if your box starts swapping memory while playback there is no way for a 200MHz laptop to cope

Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.

I compliment you on the thoroughness of your investigations. (y) Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas what the problem might be. :( Perhaps someone else will post with some suggestions. -- from CyberSimian in the UK

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
