I use the build in power sheduler plugin to do that. I enabled Hibernation in Windows XP for that. Have a look at the energy settings in the display control panel. Then you start mp configuration program and go to the plugins section. Enable Power Scheduler and change the settings. Set the shutdown mode to Hibernate.

I think datfreak has talked about if the MP hibernate the PC after a scheduled recording finished. (and wake up before record of course)

That's what the power scheduler plugin and also the pvr scheduler do.

which version do you have ? Normaly it's installed by default and you can enable and configure it in MP Configuration under Plugins.

On the assumption you are using an OTA/Cable or Sat tuner then no internet connection is required for live TV recordings. BUT only if you already have Media Portal fully installed and functional. For all practical purposes you will need an internet connection to get Media Portal properly installed on a PC! Yes.

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...

O Frabjous Joy! That seems to have done the trick. Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday! Cheers Ralph
