If I try to update a plugin it get´s aborted with the pop-up : "This version of xxxxx requires Mediaportal version 1.2 beta or higher"

If i try to install the plugin for 1.1.x I get: "This version of xxxxxx requires Mediaportal version 1.1.0-1.1.3"

Then the popup: "dependency check error, update aborted"

The same for all plugins I try to update

It is impossible to update my plugins (

    How do I log this?

I 'm trying to update all plugins I have with the same result: Online videos, moving pictures, my tv series, every skin I try and so on....

Could this be the same problem? https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...s-wrong-version-mediaportal-tv-service-95985/

Well, which specific files are you downloading to install, or are you relying on an automatic update feature from within MPEI ?

Since this is a beta, version, it may be that the updated plugins that are required are not in the repository. Try looking in the relevant forum section for a thread with a title such as

    "Updated version for MediaPortal 1.2.0beta".

    For example https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ng-pictures-build-mediaportal-1-2-beta-95831/

I have updated all of the plugins you mention with no problems at all.

WHY DO SAY THAT THIS IS NOT A BUG?!

When I try to update without mpeinstaller via the link above I get for:

Moving pictures: warning sign saying MP 1.1.6 (I click ok and install is aborted)

MP TV-series: It appears you are not running a version of mediaportal that is supported by MP TV-series. Please upgrade to MP 1.2 SVN and try again.

Online videos: This version of online videos requires mediaportal 1.2 or higher

Attach logs as elliottmc requested. Then your actual MP version can be seen.
Your opening post stated you run MP 1.2.0 beta vir PureVision HD 4.2. BUT the purevision version compatible with MP 1.2 beta is 4.6. So something does not match up. So can you see now why logs are important if you want support?

Ok, thought you wanted a log from when I tried to update my plugins, that is why I got confused ;-)

Please have a look in one of my logs from last week attached above.

And the MediaPortal 1.2.0beta release is not flagged as version 1.2.0.

Please understand, most of the time the development team do actually know what they are doing ;)

There is clearly something wrong with your setup if the files linked to in the thread do not install for you. They work fine for me, and for many other people.

Some logs might actually help us confirm the version of MediaPortal you are running (i.e. that your installation worked okay). I have to admit that I don't know where MPEI logs anything.

There are installer settings, including xml files, in

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer\V2

(the exact location may be different on your install).

Try uninstalling one of those plugins, then installing the new one (from the file) fresh.

All I am doing here is guessing, since you are not giving us enough information to help you. I do appreciate that you are trying to help, but you have to give us exact steps to reproduce the problems.

    From logs above
    Code:
    2011-05-01 07:37:31.140625 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: MediaPortal v1.1.5.0 is starting up on Windows XP ( Service Pack 3 )
You do not have 1.2 beta installed, this is 1.2 alpha
