I am very new to MP and use the TV server backend with XBMC front end.
the specifics of my backend are Windows 7 64Bit machine with an HDPVR connected to a sky + satelite reciever. So far I have set up the channels I want and the web epg has populated the channels but I cannot get the channel changing to work. A contributor to the problem is that I have on the same machine Girder which in turn uses both the USBUIrt and the MCE device for various lighting and other things. I have googled and found various old threads about Girder and IRSS conflicting and I have albut given up on Hauppauge doing the channel changing as to be honest I was getting nowehere.
that is where I stumbled accross a very old thread that suggested using tv3 plugin to generate an event using event.exe in Girder then having girder use the USB UIRT to change the channel??? seems like a plan and I can certainly get the "test" to send the command and Girder receives the event, but then when I go to the XBMC remote pc and try and change channel there is no event generated.
I may be really trying to overcomplicate things and one of you may have a better idea.... getting the Hauppauge doing it or how Girder and IRSS can coexist and share the USBUIRT nicely...... any help appreciated!
thanks
