1. TV Card: sapphire theatrix 550

When running setuptv.exe no channels are present under my tv card and when pressing scan nothing happens. Before it was possible to manually add channels and specify frequencies manually, but I cannot find any 'add' button in the channels dialog.

Please help!

I'm unsure about this 'apphire theatrix 550' card but i think its an
analog s/w card. Analog s/w cards are not supported (yet) by the tvserver

    About your question:
    1. scanning should give channels for h/w analog cards
    2. you can import tv channels from a tvguide.xml
    3. indeed, there is no 'add channel' button at this time

    Very fast reply :)
It is a h/w analog card so I guess it should work. I have tried using import and the tvguide.xml generated by webepg but this does not help :(

The server will check once every minute for a new xmltv file
so give it some time. Also make sure the .dtd file is in the same folder as the xmltv file.

About your card, if its a analog h/w card and it doesnt work, then please
    post a tv.log to http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com

Best is to restart the service, start scanning and when its done
    then take the tv.log
That way i know all information needed is in the log file.

I cant find the tv.log, not in the 'MediaPortal' or 'MediaPortal TV Server' installation folder. Should there be a 'log' folder in 'MediaPortal TV Server' aswell? There is not on my computer. I have restarted my computer and can see the tvservice is running in taskmanager.

Ups - guess i didnt. Thought I did though.
I found the log and I can see that it has trouble connecting to the sql server. As I have the server and client on the same machine I skipped the configuration of the sql server as it said it was only for LAN connections. After this configuration the channels are there, so maybe the wiki should be changed.
I tried scanning also but that caused a crash. I will look a little into this and post my logs if it continues.

Thank you very much for your quick replies and a very nice product.

Hmm... it doesnt work too well. The channels are there, but when I choose edit and change the channel number, close and go back the channel number is back to 0. Also the the coloumn marked # which I think is the priority all have the value 1.

Under manual control I did the following:
    Stop Service
    Start Service
    Start TimeS
I get a dialog saying 'Unable to create/start graph'
I posted the tv.log and error.log at the pastebin you referred to earlier.

I tried to do a scan of the channels with a complete crash (Send / Dont send error report to microsoft). I have also posted the tv.log and error.log for this to the pastebin.

Looks like the tv engine and the tv card dont like each other!

Todays version already works better. The channels can be changed and the scanning doesnt crash the program. No channels are found during scanning though, but that was also the case with the previous vversion. With the new possibility of setting the frequency manually everything is great on the channel side. I still get the 'Unable to create/start graph' when pressing Start TimeS.
    But still: Great work!
