cannot get tv picture at all! (1 Viewer)

Hi, i have a problem with my hauppage wintv nova T usb 2 software, it works fine with wintv2000, but when i try to use 3rd party software such as your media portal i get no tv picture and it just says failed to start timeshifter , in the config, it also says 'failed to upgrade graph' in fact with Gb pvr for instance, it says ' no known cards detected in this machine.'

any ideas, be gentle complete newbie on this and would love to use MP

If you check the MediaPortal requirements, you will find that you need Windows XP with SP2 - I notice that you only have SP1 installed?

Please upgrade to SP2, apply all the Microsoft patches to bring your XP up to date, and apply the relevant patches listed in "Tips & Tricks. That should fix your issue....

No, I do not concur - SP2 has been great for me - I have it running on 3 PCs, and it is "solid as a rock"...

Besides, if you want to use MediaPortal, you need the new files that are only available in SP2 - so you don't really have a choice.... :wink:
