I do not know when it started, but somehow I am not able to play some (disk based) DVD's anymore. I reproduced the issue in debug mode for the logs. Also I have tried Filmerit, but this doesn't show any errors at all. A lot of DVD's do play correctly though. The ones that don't, do play perfect in Total Media Player.

I am using SAF5 and the vob files from the DVD play fine in Graphstudio but Mediaportal is saying it can't play the video and mentions mpeg2 and AC3. Anyone got any clue?

Seems to be something like the problem in this post:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...s-while-streaming-dvds-video-files-nas-87389/

The DVD's are on a NAS indeed. Problem is that I already have the latest firmware that is available.

2011-01-12 11:26:54.204888 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: DVDPlayer9:Add DVD Navigator as navigator failed: The parameter is incorrect.

Somehow the MS DVD navigator wont like what is being passed to it. Unfortunately the logs wont tell anything more specific.

Seems to be some timing issue. I experimented and found out that the DVD's that gave problems where on an external USB drive which is attached to my NAS. When I copied the DVD to the NAS harddrive itself the DVD played correctly.

If I remember correctly there is some limitation in MS DVD navigator in Windows 7 that wont allow DVD to be played from non-local storage.

Try same in GraphEdit with using the MS DVD navigator (not directly the VOB files).
