Cannot play anything from the web. Audio/video (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

I can't play anything that streams from the web. VMR9 and regular audio streams. MyTrailers, last.fm plugin, and My Music Videos all do not work. I get audio in trailers/music videos, but I cannot see any video. I get error 104734 'Translation Error' in error.txt log. I have CCCP Codecs installed, all drivers etc.

I re-installed MP several times. Its all default right now. Specs of HTPC below.

AMD Sempron
512Mb DDR400
80GB HD
SBLive!
X700 Pro V/C
Etc..

Latest ATI/Creative Drivers. ALl Windows updates done in windows update. Etc.

Any help appreciated.

Nope.

This is usually one of two things, xp firewall does not react to allow it through as a exception (no popup), or your isp\configuration.

Either point xp firewall exactly to what you wish to allow through, or install ZoneAlarm (free basic) and it is much more adaptable than xp's own (which needs to be disabled).

Hopefully this will resolve your problem.

Thanks for the reply paranoid, we're both getting audio through fine though and if I go back while playing a music video I can see the small preview video in the bottom left of my screen aswell, fullscreen is just black. Wouldn't seem like a firewall issue, nevertheless I tried disabling it didn't resolve the issue.
