I hope you guys can help me.

I'm trying to setup my TVServer so I can connect to it from anywhere across the internet. I assume this is possible?

I have a singleseat install on my media center, and it works great. I can also connect to my TVServer across my LAN and WLAN and watch tv without any problems. The issue I'm running into is watching TV from my TVServer from outside my LAN. I get the error message "Unable to connect to database". I'm using MySQL, not SQL Express.

Beyond switching to SQL Express, which I might just try to see if it resolves the issue, I have tried everything else in this thread to fix the problem, but none of it has worked.

Anyone have any idea's / suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Arterio,

I don't think it is a good idea to allow database access from internet.
But I assume you are using router and you need to open ports for sql and tv server. There is a wiki on what ports need to be opened and forwarded to tvserver's ip address.
What router do you use?
