iv been using MP for a few weeks now, the first time i installed it i did it without any problems. A few days ago i had some issues with MP not detecting my TV tuner(Kworld DVB-T). In the end i un-installed both and re-installed. The problem im finding now is i cant remember how i scan for the channels. AFAIK its media portal setup -> television -> TV channels, then 'lookup' however i cant find the UK in that drop down box. iv searched MP high and low looking for a way of scanning for channels yet so far havnt found anything.

iv also searched the forums, wiki & MP manual and so far not much has come up.

I havnt bothered with my PC specs as its worked in the past and its just settings that need tweaked. Im running the latest MP version - 2.0.0.

cheers in advance guys.

cheers for the response guys, manged to do a scan but it isnt picking up anything.

Im at university living in halls, using the aerial in the wall, surely id pick up at least 1 channel. Not picking up anything strikes me as a bit odd, any ideas what could be up?

maybe the presets are not set for your particular frequencies.

try and find out what frequencies your area uses.. and modify the XML file for tuning to force it to look at those instead. XML file is in the tuningparameters folder.

or maybe the aerial or flylead you are using is not working.

    that's what i said !

I know my post went up about 10 seconds after yours chenks.:D

As i said, i had it working at home a few days ago, and cant seem to figure out why it wont work now.

    No signal springs to mind.

Does it work with Cards own software ok.

If it does, try uninstalling tvcard, empty tvguide database in mediaportal setup\tv,
and then delete tvdatabase.xml in mediaportal\database folder.

then add card and autotune again using full uk scan, go and get a coke whilst this is doing its thing.

ps recommend you update to 0.2.04 prior to retuning, if not got already, i know i had some tuning problems on first telease of 2 or get latest svn, you'll just love the music side, especially using the G-Force viz's.

Iv tried it with the cards own software and it still couldnt pick anything up. I figured it could be down to a faulty wire/aerial so i borrowed a mates TV and it worked fine. The quality wasnt 100% but it was easily watchable.

I just cant understand why it worked 2 days ago and picked up a good few dozen channels in the countryside, yet as soon as we move into a low rise city(ie no giant buildings) everything goes down the drain.

As for adjusting the presets, iv opened them up but i wouldnt even know where to start when it came to adjusting the frequencies. Im only 90mins up the road from my house(where it worked flawlessly) so i cant imagin the frequencies would have changed that much?

Shit aerial, weak signal, it happens.

oh well, at least it gives you something to look forward to when you go home.

    enjoy your life.
