can't gain focus with remote (1 Viewer)

First of all; thumbs up to and-81 for this great plugin, without it mediaportal would not be half as user friendly

But now for the question; every thing works fine, including blasting but when mediaportal is out of focus I can't seem to get it back into focus no matter what I try;
-the "gain focus" check box in the action-bevel;
-a macro with "get focus"command, even when i map it under a replacement-driver button

any suggestions? This would be very helpfull since configuring MP as "always on top" is no option for me and it quite often losses focus (also when bootinh again after a scheduled recording using Power Schedular).

Focus issues are pretty common at the moment, so I've been working on a couple things to try and remedy them.

Hopefully I will have something soon that will fix this for you. In the meantime, maybe try changing the "Let applications steal focus" setting in windows.

I think this option is in MediaPortal setup, and I know it's in TweakUI if you have that.

I coudn't find the option in mediaportal setup. TweakUI is not installed on my computer, would it help to install it, or is it only usefull to prevent programs from getting focus, not to allow them?

Well, if the prevent focus stealing option is enabled you should try disabling it. I thought there was an option in MediaPortal for this, but there isn't ... no matter ...

If you're HTPC is a dedicated machine then you should have no hesitation in changing this option with TweakUI.

If you use Event Ghost, you don't really need focus to have your remote control MP. I have MP running happily on the TV, and whilst I am typing this my kids are watching music vids on MP with full remote support. If you want some help setting up let me know and I'll try to help

You can control MediaPortal without focus with the MCE Replacement Plugin or IR Server Suite, but that's not the issue.
