Hi, I have found a problem when I played DVD movies (.ISO's) because it was crappy quality. Then I checked it with GraphStudio and noticed that MP used MPV codec for DVD's, instead of ATI MPEG video decoder as my config says. Then I checked with TV and it was using ATI MPEG video decoder, my config says ATI MPEG video decoder, so thats correct.

When I select PowerDVD 8 for DVD's in MP and checked with GraphStudio again and it was using PowerDVD 8 codec, correct.
There a no other errors, checked with Filmerit.

I have here attached my logfiles and hope someone could help me bring any answers to this. I have made the following in MP:
- Start MP
- Start Television and Stop Television (it use ATI AVIVO MPEG decoder as my config)
- Start DVD movie and Stop DVD movie (it use MPV MPEG decoder, my config is ATI)
- Exit MP

Thanks for the best HTPC software.

Same problem here too. Noticed that CPU utilization is above 85% when playing 1080p content, and there is image stuttering. Graph studio shows ffdshow decoder in use when I have configured the ATI one. Any help will be appreciated.

To my knowledge, the Avivo decoder doesn't support DVD MPEG2 decoding, because of encryption or something like that (it doesn't support the MEDIATYPE).

Try with A**DVD but if that doesn't work it's the decoder's fault, not MediaPortal's.

To be sure, try with another player like Media Player Classic by disabling its internal MPEG2 decoder, the Avivo decoder should not work with it either.

Wow!!!! Thats new for me. But I have PowerDVD 8 installed and its using AVIVO codec when I playing DVD's from PowerDVD. In PowerDVD I can see the actual codec who is used in the config, I cant see it in GraphStudio but I think its blocked. I have no remote graph to connect with when Im using PowerDVD.

PowerDVD uses its own inbuilt codec - CyberLink DVD Decoder - and can't be configured to use an external 3rd party decoder like AVIVO ....

ATI uses AVIVO name for their HW decoding technology. Cyberlink's PowerDVD cannot use any other MPEG2 decoder than its own.
