Been running a media center PC for a while now using MCE & a skybox, so I have a legit sky freeview card.

Decided recently to build a new HTPC as follows;

case: Zalman HD 160
Processor: AMD 64 3200
RAM: corsair DDR 400 2GB
MB: MSI neo platinum GF3
Video card: Geforce 5900XT
SAT cards: 2x Twinhan DVB-S +CI (latest drivers)
Cam: 2x Dragon cams with Predetor 3.42 firmware for NDS
MP: MediaPortal_0.2_RC4 with SVN 06/14/2006
OS: MS XP MCE

I started using MCE but I could not detect all the channels particularly channel 4 & 5 so a friend suggested MP, managed to detect more than enough channels, the Zalman remote/ case works perfectly. able to record one side while watching another etc. The only
problem I have is the Common Interface which I need to descamble channel 4 & 5.

Twinhan have this plugin for MCE but it doesn't seem compatible with MP as when I open it it always looking at MCE. I've tried stopping all the services referring to MCE but it doesn't make any difference so it can't be compatible with MP.

I've spent some time in MP configuration but I can't find anywhere I can set-up the CI, I know I need to put in the sky box serial numbers.

I've also have a look around the forum but haven't see anything which tell me how to set this up. If anyone can offer some help or advice I would really appreciate it.

thanks in advance.

    Hi,

MP supports the CI natively so you don't need the CI-plugin which is for MCE 2005 only.

My provider does not require a pin code for my subscription so I don't know where to insert pin codes. I would recommend you to do "edit" on your capture cards in the MediaPortal setup. Also I would select the correct CAM type in the same place.

    Cheers,
    Martin

thanks a lot for the reply .. perhaps there's not the same requirement
but the serial number is put in the dragon cam so it will decode sky.

I'll have a look where you suggested. thanks again

    HI all,

just an update really, still no joy. I can't decode either Channel 4 of 5 via sky. I've tried the cam setting, which originally I had set to default & tried other settings but didn't make any difference.

Its just these two channels that are giving me a problem.
