Cant Scan For Channels (1 Viewer)

I have just installed media portal onto a clean install of vista and it seems to work well except for tv. I imported my settings from a previous build using the backuptv plugin and it seemed to work fine but when i select a channel or manually try a preview via tvserver config i get an error "unknown error occured". So i deleted all the channels and went to scan for them again when i realised i couldn't. My tvcard which is a nova t500 is listed but if i click on it i have no option to scan for channels. I know the card is working because it works in vista media center so does anyone have an idea what it could be... i'll try and post the logs in a bit...

I know Vista installs a generic DVB-S driver for DVB-S cards. Maybe it does the same for DVB-T?

Mine wouldn't work till I installed the driver from the manufacturer. I didn't try with Media Centre, but maybe it's OK with the generic driver.

Try downloading the latest driver from Hauppauge & install that, if you haven't done so already.

Mediaportal does not find German channels

I installed MediaPortal 1 and like its features a lot, however when I scan for channels using Astra I get all Italian channels but no German channels. I have a Technisat Skystar HD2 and the Dbviewer that comes with it finds the German channels without a problem. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I am running MP on Vista 32 SP1
