I attach server logs showing a problem with the TV Server trying to tune to different channels on the same transponder. I am not attaching MediaPortal logs because it wasn't running - I was trying to 'preview' channels in the TV Server program.
Story goes: Card7 is recording on itv2. If I try to tune to a channel on that same transponder it tries to use the same card:
It then fails with a no video/audio error:
If try and preview a channel on a different transponder it works OK on Card6:
The recording worked fine. As soon as it was finished it let me tune to channels on that transponder.
What's going on? Presumably a fix to this problem would be for TVServer to recognise that despite it thinking it can tune Card7 to the transponder, it actually can't (for whatever reason) and then for it to try Card6 or Card5? Instead while I record on one transponder I can't view any other channel on that transponder, but I can view other channels. That sounds like the complete reverse of the benefit that was intended by multi-channel viewing?
Using TVServer SVN of 10th March. Didn't see this problem in changelogs since then - have I missed something?
