Hi,

When configuring my encoders, MP is only recognizing my Intervideo codecs/filters. I want to use MainConcept so I created an entry in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml and placed it in the MediaPortal sub-directory. MP started fine and recorded fine. However, it did not use the MainConcept codec/filetrs but Intervideo as was the norm.

My question is, did I put the xml in the right directory and, if so, where can I look in the logs to see if MP even tried to use this setup? I can't find trace of it anywhere.

Thanks

No luck at all

OK, I am learning slowly. I installed a new card, an Avermedia MTVBHPCIR AverTV Bravo Hybrid PCIE. So now I know that this was a bad choice. No h/w encoding and MP does not recognize it. However, I believe I have successfully set it up in the CaptureCardsDefiniton.xml. But how do I configure it in the config application when MP does not find any cards?

ATSC\Analog hybrid, why not use the TVServer (auto identifies card)

As this is capable of HD broadcasting reception, you would need to use the TVServer anyway.

    Regards.

    Scan

Many thanks for the advice. I have never used TV-Server before. OK, I tried to configure my card. TV-Server recognized my hybrid card and I created a new group with digital and analog tv and radio. However, when I scan for channels on any of the three, nothing is found. Also strange is that the config window on the right does not change when I click different options on the right.

Sorry, I mean options on the left! HELP

Oops! In addition to what I have reported, I also have come across a more serious problem. After rebooting, Windows tries, but fails, to install a 'Multimedia Controller'. Furthermore, now none of my multimedia apps can find my tuner!!

Has nobody had this problem? When I configured TV-Server for my hybrid, I created a group for my digital and analog video and radio. Scanning found no channels. When I rebooted, TV-Server must have created a multimedia controller that Windows cannot install, even when I point to my tuner driver installation disk.

    Hope someone can help.

    ?

What do you have to do to get support around here? I would really like to use MediaPortal. I used it with my previous tuner card!

A good start would be to read the guidelines.

Maybe the config program will write something in the log files.

Additional information required for other people to evaluate your ptoblem.
    What plugins installed.

Keep on trying with the right tone, and you will eventually get help.

I think you should first ensure that your hardware is correctly configured in windows before trying TVServer.
