Hi all,

from time to time I am having this:

mc5dds.gif

after standby and reboot.

Stopping MP and restarting does not help. Only PC reboot helps ...

Any idea?

thanks&regards

I noticed you took this via VNC. Does it also happen when viewed on the local computer.

My first bet would be GPU tmps over the roof. Did you overclock the graphicscard? if not, try increasing the airflow towards the GPU.

to Callifo: no it's for sure no temp problem. As I say it only happens after standby+reboot. For example the PC is one day of and I reboot - GPU for sure icecold - then it happens.

to jawbroken: what you pay for an original? ;-)

to Inker: no I quickly started VNC just to grab the screenshot AFTER it happened.

more ideas?? It's not a big problem ... just annoying that from time to time I am forced to shutdown.

By the way: this I have since I play around with MP. Starting from 0.1.3 ...So am I really the only one having that?

    thanks+regards

This is for sure a graphic card problem. You should try to swap it with another, I think the hardware is in cause (video memory corruption)

Perhaps some GPU memory underclock can solve the problem...

Happens to me too sometimes after it has been in standby... Not exactly like this but I get a small "waterfall" effect with the pixels. And my HTPC gets quite slow. A reboot solves the problem.
I have ordered a pair of new memory sticks just in case if the memory somehow gets corrupted during the standby.

    to CHli:

I don't think it's a graphic card problem. It is:

    - only in MP
    - only after resuming from standby
    - only in the GUI

    - never in other Applications
    - never after fresh reboot
    - never in fullscreen TV

If it would be a G-Card problem I guess it would be more related to high load and/or high temperature.

But to be sure I will try to underclock the card.

    thanks+regards

My graphics problem is remaining when i close MP. But my graphics card/CPU is not very hot either so... I'll try with my new memory and see what happens.. Maybe my problem is completely different.

    - only in MP : MP use DX acceleration which push your GFX card a bit more than other applications
    - only after resuming from standbyGraphic Memory Corruption ?
